2022-08-22 00:09

The Diaspora Days, organized every year by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, are a good opportunity to present the digital services created by the e-Governance Agency (EGA) for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are temporarily abroad. This year's Diaspora Days took place at the Palace of the Republic, with the motto "A Small Country with a Big Heart", from 19 to 20 August 2022, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, representatives of the Government, public institutions and the diaspora.

The e-Governance Agency participated in this major event, and informed the Moldovan nationals about the activity of the institution, as well as the new product - the Government Document Delivery Service  #MDelivery.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Turcanu spoke about the advantages and benefits of digitalization for citizens in their interaction with the government and participated in a panel of discussions with diaspora representatives, who expressed their full support for everything that the Government of the Republic of Moldova has achieved in the field of digital transformation. The official encouraged all the people from the Republic of Moldova and abroad to further promote and support innovation and digitalization, to use electronic services with confidence, because this is the only way we will manage to have a modern, prosperous country with public services accessible to all the citizens, wherever they are.

The issue of digitalization was also discussed at the event entitled “MFAEI serving the diaspora”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on 19 August 2022. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization Iurie Turcanu, Deputy Director of the e-Governance Agency Andrei Prisacar, Secretary of the Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Policy and European Integration MP Adrian Balutel, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Moldova for Diaspora Relations Elena Druta, MFAEI Secretary General Sergiu Odainic and all Moldovan Ambassadors who gathered in Chisinau on the occasion of Diaspora Days 2022.

The participants to the event had a consistent and productive discussion on the measures needed to simplify the citizens' interaction with the government through the digitalization of processes for the provision of consular services, ensuring the accessibility of digital services for our fellow citizens abroad and promoting their trust in the electronic services created in the Republic of Moldova.
