MORE ACCESSIBLE PUBLIC SERVICES FOR THE DIASPORA IN FRANCE

2024-04-01 11:08

The E-Governance Agency (EGA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Paris will work together to promote digital services for the diaspora, providing citizens with the possibility to access and obtain several types of documents online.

Thereby, the initiative reflects the commitment and concern of the authorities for the welfare and satisfaction of Moldovan citizens abroad, representing a significant step towards increasing the efficiency of the public administration of the Republic of Moldova, facilitating citizens’ access to essential services in a fast and convenient way, using technology in their relationship with State institutions.

EGA Director Andrei Prisăcar discussed this and other issues related to ways of informing and educating citizens digitally with Moldova’s ambassador to France, Corina Călugăru, during a meeting in Paris, which was also attended by digitalisation experts from the Institute for European Policy and Reforms (IEPR).

Discussions focused on the need to implement e-governance solutions that meet the needs of the Moldovan diaspora community, including reducing queues and congestion at the embassy, but also to facilitating citizens’ access to public services provided by the Moldovan authorities, without any bureaucratic barriers, in a fast, simple and efficient way.

The EGA representatives’ visit to Paris took place in the context of the partnership with IEPR, with joint support of the “Policy Advisory Fund” and “E-Governance and Digitalization in Eastern Partnership Countries” projects, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Moldova.
